Terms of Service
Last updated 13 October 2026
About these terms
These terms cover the information on our housing page and enquiries sent through the form on it. They do not replace the client care letter we send you if we accept your matter. That letter sets out the scope, the fees and the cancellation terms that apply to your matter.
Our services
H.A. Law Advisory provides independent paralegal advice and document preparation in England. We are not a firm of solicitors. We do not conduct litigation and we do not provide court representation.
Fees and quotes
Our published fees are:
- Housing consultation and assessment: £120 for one hour.
- Housing allocation and banding review: from £350.
- Section 202 suitability review: from £350.
- Stage 1 housing complaint: £100.
- Stage 2 housing complaint: £100.
- Ombudsman complaint preparation: £150.
Review fees depend on how complex your matter is and the scope we agree with you. We give you a written quote before any work begins, and no review work starts until you have agreed that quote.
The one hour assessment at £120 is a compulsory first step before any review work. If you instruct us for the review, the £120 you have already paid is deducted from the review fee, so you only pay the difference.
No guaranteed outcome
We cannot promise rehousing, a higher band or a successful review. Decisions about your housing rest with the council, the Ombudsman or a court.
Enquiries and deadlines
Sending an enquiry does not mean we have accepted your case and it does not protect any deadline. We act for you only once we have accepted your matter in writing and you have instructed us. Until that point, you remain responsible for any deadline that applies to you.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, contact us first at hashim@halawadvisory.com. We will consider your complaint under the complaints procedure set out in your client care letter.
Data protection
How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
H.A. Law Advisory is an independent paralegal practice. It is not a firm of solicitors.
